I leant how the norwegian value their space first in Armstardam. i was on mmy way to oslo, at schiphol ariport. as we waited at the gate to board our flight, i was shocked when a norwegian gentleman shifted aside from where we were............... at first i took this as offensive and racist! little did i know that its respect for space! i imagined if it was my native uganda.... he would have probably gone ahead to ask me my details and stuff like that. i also came to learn this on the streets os oslo, if you are walking say at night on the same street lane with a lady, they are shocked to death, thinking that you probably want to merge them or rape them! its always better to shift to the other lane! same on a bus or train, you will never seat next to some one if there are free seats some where else! this is at times really bad as you never get to know people! this is the point i value my african heritage and norms!
