I want to go back: Part III

My life in Europe has been good and bad. In part three of my blog posts, I would like to give some advice to people who are thinking of migrating.

I wish people in Africa would think twice before jumping into the European adventure. People need to know what to expect once here. If someone decides to travel to Europe he should not come with the conviction that all his problems are solved. For many, obtaining a visa means ‘all your problems are over’. For those who think like that (and I know there are millions of them), I would say the visa they got really means ‘this is the beginning of your trouble’.

Many African immigrants find themselves being unable even to go back to their country, and a lot of them fall in illegal activities such as drugs and prostitution. It would be a pity to abandon a promising career in Africa to end up in Europe cleaning dead bodies or work as a prostitute in the streets of European cities.

All I recommend is information. Get to know what you are going to do in Europe and don’t just embark in a journey you don’t know where it will lead. Sometimes, once you’re in there is no way out anymore. And it is a decision that will affect the rest of your life. So, please, if you are thinking of coming for adventure in Europe, think again. Africa needs you!

Thanks.

Over the years, Europe has been marketed as aplace equivalent to heaven, this is because western media

has played a big part in this.Secondly western media has turnished the image of Africa

for over three centuries we believe what they tell us.Up to now many Africans belive that we are poor.

I have always believed that it is our duty as Africans to start telling our own

stories.Poverty is everywhere in the world. Regarding finding jobs in Europe,

We have to understand how the system works. There are 3000-5000 applications to one job

advertised. It is very easy to work out that if you are a foreiner  the chance of getting a job

you are qualified for is very slim. It is not unsual to send more than 600 applications

If you are lucky you might get may be two or three  replies, this does not only apply

foreiners but also to Europeans. My last comment on this the stuation in Europe

Differs from country to country for example, In the Uk it is a known fact that is the

best place to live if you are an African or a black person from other parts of the wold.

Lastly We as African Living outside Africa it is our duty to educate and inform our brothers, sisters mothers and fathers

About Europe and we have to tell the truth.
