What a coincidence. So I paid my mother a visit and I have to say " what a coincidence?". My mother had informed me of a Kenyan organisation in Cologne which is involved in helping Kenyans in need. She registered me by the way but I will get back on that case (just remind me). My mother also told me that there was a burial ceremony of a Kenyan woman that took place few days ago. But the details of this woman who had lived in Germany for 22 years just came into light and I decided to blog this story.

Irene had lived in Germany for 22 years. According to what I was told, this woman was a hardworking lady, doing 2 cleaning jobs a day for over 8 hours. Let's start with what caused here death: The doctors diagonised her with the wrong ailment. This means for all those years she has been suffering, this lady has been receiving wrong medication. The moment they found out the real cause of her death, it was too late.

The description of Irene's life was horrible and I don't want to go into details. She was married to a German husband who cared less about her health and she was the breadwinner. In our African tradition, a funeral is a ceremony where family members and friends are invited to help and coordinate. Irene had no friends but thanks to her neighbour (A Kenyan lady and member of this Kenyan organisation), they were able to coodinate ther funeral ceremony. Her husband was against other people getting involved but later agreed.  I will post more about this Kenyan organisation in upcoming blogs.

This is one example out of a million cases. Irene had no children, spent 22 years in Germany working hard and the result was a lonely death. Yes, this is Surprising Europe and it is our mission to create awareness. Be informed before you come!!
