I study African Languages ​​and Cultures at the University of Ghent (UGent) on the train home I met an old classmate,  while we where talking about are studies he laught and said: "Al&c ooh that means that  probably 99% of the students are Africans?" To his surprise I told him that they were only 2 Africans students studing this, me and a Kenyan girl. I've ponderd about it and learned that there are sadly just a few Africans who continue studying, not just at Universitait/College level but also at high school level. I should also add that there are more girls than boys that choose to study at Universitait/College level.I know that this problem isn't just a African problem but i think it's worth the mentioning.
